The RTTC National 10 Mile Time Trial Championships 2025, organised by Kernow Racing Team in Cornwall, showcased top talent across categories on the demanding S102/10 course. This out-and-back route from the B3274 near Roche, turning near Trekenning roundabout, features surprising hills that tested a competitive field. Here’s a comprehensive recap, including age group highlights in 5-year bands from 40 upwards for both men and women.
Open Category: Lee Dominates
Thomas Lee (Team Bottrill) claimed the open title with 20-38, achieving his season goal after strong National 50 and 25 performances. Teammate Rob Francis (Team Bottrill) finished second at 20-57, with Timothy Torrie (Defined Cycling Team) third at 21-05. Team Bottrill dominated, securing the team prize with four in the top six. Huw Greenish (Kernow Racing Team) led the road bike classifaction with 23-14.
Lee reflected, “I stuck to the plan, using power well on uphills, though I got carried away downhill. Winning the National 10 is a dream—next, the competition record and short-distance BBAR.”
Women’s Championship: Brewis Adds Another Title
Joanna Brewis (ADDFORM Vive Le Velo) won the women’s championship in 23-26, adding to her 2025 National Road Bike and Circuit titles. She beat Alex Clay (Team Bottrill) by 24 seconds, with Emily Martin (Team Bottrill) tin third at 24-04. FTP Racing Team claimed the women’s team prize. Josie Harcourt (FTP ( Fulfil The Potential ) Race Team) topped the road bike classification at 26-15.
Brewis said, “I didn’t expect to win this hilly course—it means the most, especially against strong Bottrill riders. Thanks to Adam from ADDFORM for the encouragement!”
Juniors: Gray and Johnson Prevail
Asher Gray (Welwyn Whs) won the junior boys’ title in 22-43, edging Noah Wheller (Lee Valley Youth CC) by one second, with Niclas Olley (Sotonia CC) third at 23-14. Freya Johnson (Gosforth RC) took the junior girls’ crown in 28-05, ahead of Skye Martingale (Type One Style) and Alice Tulett (Thanet RC). In junior road bikes, Liz Cook (Mid Devon Cycling Club) led girls at 34-31, and Oliver Riches (Kernow Racing Team) topped boys at 25-11.
Age Group Highlights
Veterans excelled in age-adjusted performances. In the Open, Blake Pond (Nopinz) (AG 40-44) led with 21-23, Jon Tune (MAGICSHINE) topped (AG 45-49) at 22-05, Jason Mcgowan (Kernow Racing Team) won (AG 50-54) at 24-10, Andrew Jason Parnowski (Plymouth Corinthian CC)took (AG 55-59) at 24-14, Simon Horsley (Legato Racing Team (LRT)) claimed (AG 60-64) at 24-41, Keith Dorling (Team Bottrill) secured (AG 65-69) at 25-12, Gerry McGarr (FTP ( Fulfil The Potential ) Race Team) led (AG 70-74) at 29-17, and David Phillips (Penzance Wheelers CC) dominated (AG 75+) at 32-44.
For women, Joanna Brewis (ADDFORM Vive Le Velo) led (AG 40-44) at 23-26, Michelle Lee (Royal Dean Forest Cycle Club) won (AG 50-54) at 26-07, Jenny Jeeves (Holsworthy Peloton) took (AG 55-59) at 26-37, Lindsay Philp (Kernow Racing Team) secured (AG 60-64) at 31-51, Vivian Bray (Tri Logic Cornwall) claimed (AG 65-69) at 29-45, and Theresa Frost (Tri Logic Cornwall) dominated (AG 75+) at 34-25.
Course Insight
The S102/10 course starts on the B3274 near Roche, heading southeast to Trekenning roundabout for the turnaround. Spanning 10.05 miles, its hilly terrain, including a notable climb near Roche, demanded strategic pacing and endurance from riders.
