Despite challenging weather conditions, riders turned out in good spirits for East Lancashire RC's L1015 time trial on Saturday 4 July.
Persistent rain and a strong headwind on the outward leg ensured fast times would be hard earned, but that didn't stop riders from producing some impressive performances across the field.
The standout performance of the day came from 93-year-old Alex Munro (pictured), who set a new National age category record, adding another remarkable achievement to his racing career.
In the Open event, Simon Wilson (Veteran) claimed victory with an excellent time of 18:15. Liam Hewitt (Espoir) secured second place in 19:03, while Marcel Schubert (Veteran) completed the podium with 19:21.
The Women's event was won by Monica Greenwood (Veteran) in an impressive 21:00. Debbie Moss finished second with 22:03, closely followed by Joanne Rea (Senior) in third on 22:12.
Although the weather was far from ideal, the challenging conditions did little to dampen spirits, with riders and volunteers alike maintaining a positive atmosphere throughout the event. East Lancashire RC extends its thanks to everyone who helped make the event possible.
