Riders came from far and wide for the TA SE Region Mike Ducker Memorial '10' at Chilham, Kent, held on Sunday 26 July.
David Biggs, Chelmer CC, travelled down from Essex on the morning to take first handicap with an actual time of 30.11, his 10.30 handicap giving him a net time of 19.41.
Andrew Nye, Ashford Wheelers, on holiday from New Zealand with his wife Caroline, took fifth fastest with 35.41 after being first man off, a big improvement on his ride on the same event last year.
Roger Lyons, CC Bexley, in his first season of tricycling, was pleased to beat 30 minutes for a '10' for the first time on three wheels, with his ride of 29.48.
National TA President Richard Bailey, Redhill CC, was fourth fastest with 30.46, while Terry Fearn, Thanet RC, recorded 39.04.
Fastest on the morning was Mark Vowells, San Fairy Ann CC, whose 24.47 was one second faster than his winning ride in this event on the same course in 2025.
The event was held on the Q10/51, a new 'Racing Course' with a gift downhill start, and the times recorded do not therefore count for local and national competitions.
Nevertheless, this course is proving popular with the riders and all were pleased with their times, which reflect the 'fun nature' tricycle time trialling.
The event was timed by our regular timekeeper, Dave Abbotts, Gravesend CC, with Paul Mepham, CC Bexley, timing at the turn (6.7 miles).
Mike Ducker's daughters Liz and Jill marshalled at the turn as usual, along with Malcolm Strickland, CC Bexley, while Fay Vowells and Debbie Boxall provided the refreshments at the event HQ, where Richard Boxall had set up the results on CTT Live.

Following a sale of cycle parts in the HQ in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, a charity which Mike Ducker supported for many years, and then after the TA SE Region AGM, a party of 15 retired to The George Inn, Molash, for a very enjoyable lunch.
Mike Ducker, who passed away in 2011, was a most enthusiastic tricyclist and a staunch supporter of the Tricycle Association, having first taken to riding on three wheels in the 1950s in the company of Bill Finch, John Healey, Ted Harrison, Arthur Coleman and Jim Catt and Gordon Lamb, all famous tricyclists in their day, although sadly no longer with us.
