With the 2026 Champion of Champions competitions entering their final stages, riders still have opportunities to secure their place in the race for the prestigious annual awards.
For the Ron Kitching Trophy (Open) and Beryl Burton Trophy (Female), there is just one qualifying event remaining – the RTTC National 10-mile Championships.
To qualify, riders must compete in three of the four RTTC Championship events covering 10, 25 and 50 miles, together with the Circuit Championship. The rider’s best three results count, with points awarded according to finishing position – one point for first, two for second and so on. The overall winner is the rider with the lowest total across their three scoring performances.
Importantly, riders must have completed the required three events to qualify. Those who have ridden only one or two events will need to compete in the remaining championship to reach the qualifying requirement.
Thomas Lee of Team Bottrill Nopinz currently leads the Open competition on 12 points from three events, meaning he has already completed the minimum number of qualifying rides. Jack Levick (George Fox Cycling Solutions) is second on 20 points from three events, with Rob Francis (Team Bottrill Nopinz) third on 21 points, also from three events.
Sam McDonald, Dylan Griffiths and Joel Hyde have also completed three events and currently meet the minimum requirement to qualify.
Several other riders remain in contention but have completed only two events. They will need to ride the National 10 if they are to reach the required three events and qualify for the competition.

The junior Champion of Champions competitions follow a slightly different format. Riders compete across the RTTC National Circuit, Closed Circuit, Hill Climb, 10-mile and 25-mile Championships, with their best three results from the five events counting towards the final standings.
With only the National Circuit and National 25 Championships having taken place so far, there are still three championships remaining. This means that riders who have completed only one or two events still have opportunities to reach the required three rides and qualify for the competition.
Leon Atkins (Camsmajaco) currently leads the Junior Boys competition with two points from two events, ahead of Roch Morgan (Utmost-Mezzo Isle of Man Junior Cycling Team) on four points from two events and Douglas Tulett (Thanet RC) on nine points from two events.
The standings remain particularly open further down the field, with a number of riders having completed just one event. These riders will need to complete two more qualifying events if they are to reach the required three rides.
