Since the launch of Late Entries at the start of the year, to date (June 17, 2026), 91 events have offered them, resulting in 307 additional entries being sold. Across those events, late entries have accounted for around 7% of the final field.
For organisers looking to fill spare start slots, Late Entries provide a simple way to increase participation and entry fee income without creating additional administration.
The system handles:
rider entry
payment
start number allocation
confirmation emails
One concern sometimes raised is that riders will wait until the last minute before deciding whether to enter.
The important point is that Late Entries are entirely controlled by the organiser.
You decide:
whether to offer them
how many to allow
the late-entry fee
when they become visible to riders
when they close
If you don't want riders knowing late entries will be available, simply enable them after the closing date.
If you intend to use Late Entries, leave suitable gaps in your published start sheet.
Late entrants are automatically allocated into existing gaps in the published start sheet, working backwards from the final rider.
If no suitable gaps remain, late entrants will be added to the end of the field
Once a start sheet has been published, rider start times should not normally be altered to accommodate late entrants.
The full process, including setup instructions and start number allocation rules, is explained in the Late Entries for Open Events (🔗), help guide, available to event organisers and admin users.
