In a thrilling showcase of grit and precision, Emily Martin (Team Bottrill) and Adam Duggleby (ADDFORM Vive Le Velo ) claimed their first RTTC National 25 Mile Championship titles on 3 August 2025 in Stilton, Cambridgeshire. Martin, 35, clocked 55:38 to edge out teammate Alex Clay by 21 seconds, while Duggleby powered to 49:20, securing the men’s title. The event, held on the technical N1/25C course, highlighted top UK time trial talent, with standout performances from juniors Leon Atkins (258 Protege) and Freya Johnson (Gosforth RC), alongside strong veteran showings across age groups.

Mastering the Technical N1/25C

The N1/25C course, a 25-mile out-and-back route along the B1043, tested riders with five legs and numerous roundabouts. Martin, with National 50 and 100 titles, thrived on the technical layout. “I looked at the course in February and thought it would be one for me,” she said. “I tend to do better on technical ones, and this year, the out-of-breath time trials are feeling better.” Her 55:38 marked her ninth open win of 2025, with Alex Clay (Team Bottrill) (55:59) and Laura Davies (FTP ( Fulfil The Potential ) Race Team ) , (57:33) completing the women’s podium. Duggleby, a Veteran category standout with six wins in seven open time trials this season, overcame equipment challenges to claim the men’s crown. “I’ve been battling with my shoes all year, but I figured it out, and it helped today,” he said. “I felt decent and could get power out.” His 49:20 led a Team Bottrill podium sweep, with Thomas Lee (Team Bottrill) (49:43) and Rob Francis (Team Bottrill) (50:09) taking second and third. Stuart Coleman (Onyx RT) (Onyx RT) topped the men’s road bike category in 58:17, followed by Joshua Meyland (Cambridge CC) (58:35) and Brad Fraser (St Ives CC) (1:00:06).
