Important announcement from Teesside District Secretary on b

Important announcement from Teesside District Secretary on behalf of the Teesside District Committee

With club events starting this week, may I remind organizing clubs and participants of new Cycling Time Trial regulations for the coming season.

All participants must now wear a helmet, regardless of age. Each machine to be used in the event must have a working front & rear light at the start of the event.  There are no exceptions.  Non Compliance  = No start.

The minimum age of a competitor in an event on the public highway is 12 years.  On a closed circuit time trial the minimum age is left to the organizers discretion (within reason)

All riders on the public highway, must start at 1 minute intervals, unless prior district and police permission has been obtained. It is different for closed roads/circuits.

Failure to comply with any of above (& of course the rest of CTT rules and regulations), I am informed could render the insurance void for all competitors in the event.  This is extremely important if there is an incident associated with the event.

Hope all goes well with your events and that we have a season of good weather and safe and incident free time trialling

Kindest Regards

Gavin Russell
