It is with great sadness that I need to report the passing of Albert Harrison of Cleveland Coureurs CC.

Albert had been in a home near one of his daughters, in North Wales, since circa late 2020.

His daughter, Judith, phoned me last evening to inform me that Albert had passed away at 10pm on Sunday evening.

He passed away peacefully in hospital after being taken there late on Saturday night after unexpectedly falling ill..

It is intended that he is to be brought home to be cremated at the Middlesbrough facility.

Albert had been a valued contributor to the Teesside district time trial scene for a great many decades.  Whilst a keen competitor, well into his eighties, he will be also remembered by riders across Teesside and adjoining districts for the many years and many events that he acted for numerous clubs as as a timekeeper.  He was also a competent course measurer and handicapper.

His retirement from district duties at 85 years of age,left a large hole in the district.

When available I will post details of the funeral arrangements.
