Warwickshire police have raised concerns about the safety of cyclists on the A46, particularly the dual carriageway section south of Stratford where the national speed limit of 70 mph exists. Everyone is acutely aware that we had a fatal accident on that stretch of road during a time trial in July this year and, following discussions with the police, the decision of the Midland District Committee for 2022 is that clubs should not hold events which use any part of the A46 in Warwickshire.  This will be kept under review as the discussions with the police are ongoing.  It is appreciated there may be some difficulty in finding alternative courses, but currently there is no other option.
