The Bank Holiday weekend brings an extra day of time trial action with events spread out over three days.
Kick-starting the action early on Saturday morning riders will be hoping for kind weather conditions for the Newmarket 10.
National Closed Circuit Champion Piotr Zulawski (Cambridge CC) is tipped for top honours as he looks to continue an impressive record of eight wins from nine open events.
With the National 10-Mile Championships just a week away the event also serves as a final chance to refine form over the distance.
Competition for Zulawski is expected to come in the form of Jonny Allen (Elysium Kalas Race Team), while veteran David Halliday (Team Bottrill) is expected to be in the podium fight.
Meanwhile, in the women’s event Karen Aylen (Maldon & District CC) will be looking to add another win to her collection this season.
The Loxwood Weekend provides a chance for competitors to do battle over both Saturday and Sunday.
Sussex CA are organising the opening event on Saturday with a 10-mile loop around West Sussex.
Paul Willcox (North Road CC) finished runner-up in the Bec CC 25-mile event last weekend and is predicted by Spindatato go one better this time out.
Veteran Simon McNamara (Sigma Sports Race Team) has been in consistent form this season and will be hoping to challenge for his fifth open win of the season.
Cris Coxon (Brighton Mitre CC) has impressed in the road bike category and is firm favourite once again.
The same loop is competed over three times in the following day’s Sussex CA 25-mile event which will test the riders who are riding both events.
Oliver Waymark (Total Tri Training) is targeting his first open victory after placing third in the Sussex CA 50 in June.
However, the likes of Marek Siwicki (Addiscombe CC) and Stuart Hourigan (VeloRefined Rule 5) are expected to be his challengers.
In Scotland a strong field is expected to battle for honours in the SVTTA 30-mile event which incorporates the Pinky Williams Trophy.
GTR - Return To Life p/b Streamline have a strong team which could dominate the open podium with the likes of Chris Smart, Ray Wilson, Cameron Muir, Marc Anderson and Rob Graham all targeting honours and team bragging rights.
The women’s category could be closely fought with Spindata predicting a close battle between Nathalie Brohan (Vanelli-Project GO) and Fiona Davidson (Dundee Wheelers CC) predicted to be separated by under a minute.
The hill climb season is also edging closer and the AIM Cycling event in North Yorkshire on Saturday provides a one-kilometre test over a climb with a maximum gradient of 20 per cent.
Nick Munro (Outlands) starts as scratch man having won the AIMC Cycling event on the same climb in April clocking 2-58.
However, Andy Cunningham (Ilkley CC) has won three open events in as many rides this month and is bound to provide tough competition.
Hosting club rider Lucy Home will take on the likes of Deborah Jeffries (Manilla Cycling) and Nuala Robinson (Fietsen Tempo) in the women’s event.
