Time trial competitors will be getting their diaries out as the dates and course details of this year’s National Championships have now been revealed.
The first chance for riders to get their hands on championship medals will be at the National Road Bike Championship on April 28.
Mikey Mottram (Ribble Collective) and Ruth Shier (Hutchinson - Brother UK) won the men’s and women’s titles in last year’s road bike championship – the second running of the event.
This year it will be held over 23 miles with two laps of a flat out and back course followed by a lumpier final eight miles.
The National Circuit Championship takes place this year takes place in Cumbria on June 9, with two laps of a 14-mile course starting and finishing in Greystoke.
The rolling course takes place around Greystoke Forest, on the edge of the Lake District National Park.
Last year’s National Circuit Championship took place in Devon when HUUB WattShop team-mates Will Lowden and Jennifer George won the men’s and women’s titles respectively.
The following weekend the country’s best riders will be heading down to Somerset for the National Team Time Trial Championship on June 16.
Starting outside Shepton Mallet competitors will battle it out over 27.5 miles on a traditional out and back course.
Team Bottrill will be the team to beat after dominating last season’s men’s and women’s National Team Time Trial events.
This year’s National 50-mile Championship takes place in Dorset with competitors set to battle on the A35 between Troy Town and Manning’s Heath on June 30.
The men’s course record is held by Tom Clements of 1-46-39 and Simone Mitchell the women’s in 1-58-52.
Adam Duggleby (ADDFORM Vive Le Velo) won last year’s National 50-mile Championship in the men’s category and Emily Martin (Team Bottrill) the women’s.
Shropshire hosts the National 100-mile Championship this season with riders completing four-and-a-half laps of a circuit on July 7.
Duggleby and Martin completed and National 50 and 100-mile Championship double last season and could once again be ones to beat.
Mesey Roads will again be hosting the National 24-hour Championship which will take place on July 27.
Both 24-hour competition records were set on the course, Graham Kemp posted 544.32 miles in 2019 and Christina Murray the women’s record of 490.28 miles in 2022.
Riders will have the chance to test themselves on a brand new course in the RTTC National 25-mile Championship on August 3 and 4.
Manchester Bicycle Club will be hosting the event on August 4. Weaver Valley Cycling Club are hosting an event on the same course (July 6) for riders to familiarise themselves with the route.
Goodwood is the host venue of this year’s National Closed Circuit Championship which takes place this year on August 11.
Sam Clark holds the men’s course record of 18-48 and the women’s benchmark time is held by Izzy Sharp (20-58).
The National 12-hour Championship will also be held on a new course hosted by CC Breckland on August 18.
Veterans Richard Sharp (ADDFORM Vive Le Velo) and Kim Barfoot-Brace (Team Bottrill) won last year’s National 12-hour and could be back to defend their titles.
This year’s National 10-mile Championship will be held in Cambridgeshire on August 31 and September 1.
The F2A takes place out and back on the A428 near Cambourne with Michael Gill having the men’s open course record of 17-40 and Becky Ridge the women’s (20-38).
Prospect Hill in Corbridge, Northumberland, will host this year’s National Hill Climb Championship on October 27.
Tom Bell has the open course record for the climb of 3-24.5 and Grace Inglis the women’s benchmark of 4-33.5.
