A showdown in Nottinghamshire is set to take place this weekend on the A46 with 100 riders down to ride in the Melton Olympic CC 10.
Michael Gill (Saint Piran) starts as scratch rider but might have to better his 20-39 in last month’s Coalville Wheelers 10 to win.
Saint Piran team-mate Ollie Hucks beat him on that occasion (20-21) and will be looking for a second win of the season.
Oliver Peckover (Ribble Weldtite Pro Cycling) will again challenge the Saint Piran pairing alongside veteran Richard Oakes (Team Ohten Aveas) who makes his first appearance of the season.
Also making his first outing is Ashley Cox (Team Bottrill) and his team-mate Neal Parkin could also challenge.
Travis Bramley (Team Spectra Wiggle p/b Vitus) finished third in the BUCS 25-mile Championship last weekend while juvenile Finlay Tarling (Flanders Color Galloo Team) will be looking to take a scalp.
Spindata suggest it couldn’t be tighter with Gill and Cox both predicted to clock 18-33.
Amber Harding (University of Exeter Cycling Club) has two runner-up spots to her name this season and starts as last woman.
The following day another big field of 110 riders are set to battle out for honours in the Farnborough & Camberley CC 25 on the H25/8.
Veteran Paul Burton (Paceline RT) has taken a win and a runners-up position so far this season over sporting terrain but will be testing himself on the faster course.
Junior Alex Franks (VC de Londres) will be his minute man after claiming the North Road CC Hardriders 22 in February.
After winning the …a3crg 15-kilometre event earlier this season Christopher McNamara (Nuun-Sigma Sport-London RT) will again be hoping for top honours.
In the women’s event Angela Carpenter (…a3crg) starts last hoping for a second win of the season.
A full field is due to line-up for Saturday morning’s Blaydon CC 2-up 19 taking place on a looped course near Cramlington in the North East.
The veteran Protech Velo pairing of Shaun Tyson and Brian Ward will face tough competition in the form of Graham Crammond and Lewis Timmins (Vector Racing).
The Liverpool Century RC mixed pair of Kate Giddings and Chris Reynolds are due to make the long trip north for the event while Louise Burnie and Gemma Hutchins (Blaydon CC) start last of four women pairs.
Junior rider Harry Jordan (Otley CC) has started the season on fire with two wins and two runner-up placings and starts in Saturday’s Macclesfield Wheelers 25.
Taking place over two loops of a 12.5-mile course, the event sees veteran Alan Chorley (Seamons CC) start as scratch man looking for his first podium of the season.
An intriguing contest awaits in the women’s competition with veterans Michelle Fairclough (Salford Cycling Club) and Joanna Cebrat (Bury Clarion CC) starting further down the order.
Keri Parton (Team Boompods) won the Crewe Clarion Wheelers 14 on her last outing and could provide stiff competition along with Emily Meakin (Weaver Valley Wheelers).
