A traditional early season test which has taken place since 1958 again sees a strong field vying for top spot.
Sunday’s East Surrey Hardriders Time Trial takes place over 24.9 miles on a testing loop near Dorking in Surrey.
Three of the past four men’s winners are due to battle for honours with Zeb Kyffin (Ribble Weldtite Pro Cycling) hoping to retain his title in the event hosted by Dorking CC.
Paul Burton (Paceline RT) won in 2020 but had to settle for third last season. Meanwhile, 2018 winner Liam Maybank (Twickenham CC) has already won this season in the Maidenhead & District CC 15.
Spindata predicts that Kyffin will be too strong for his rivals and will be a comfortable winner.
Teressa Goddard (Kingston Wheelers CC) finished second in the Paceline RT sporting 15.8 but will hope to go one better in the women’s event.
A traditional event in the North East returns this weekend with a field of 88 riders set to take on the Barnesbury CC hilly 21.
The event returns for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic on the M21 course starting outside Belsay.
Michael Gill (Saint Piran) starts as scratch man a week after being beaten by team-mate Ollie Hucks in the Coalville Wheelers 10.
Lewis Wake (Team Kirkley Cycles) won on his last outing in the Border City Wheelers hilly 13.5 on his last outing and is set to provide tough competition amongst others.
Spindata predicts that Gill will take victory and that Finlay Robertson (Derwentside CC) will lead the challenge.
After taking a host of podiums last season Louise Burnie (Blaydon CC) begins her season in the women’s event.
She will take on the likes of Vicky Gibbs (Reifen Racing) and Joanne Rea (Team Kirkley Cycles) in a competitive field.
After winning five national titles last season Christopher Fennell (The Independent Pedaler - Nopinz) begins his 2022 campaign at Sunday’s Kent CA 10.
Taking place on the out and back Q10/1 Fennell could face a challenge from his brother Nicholas on his first outing of the season.
After winning the VTTA 10 on her last outing Tracy Wilkinson-Begg (TWB - On Time Race Team) is down to ride the women’s event but will face competition in the form of Hannah Graveney (AWOL O’Shea Worx).
After winning 12 individual events last season Adam Duggleby (Chapeau! Vive Le Velo) starts as last man in the Vive Le Velo 10.
Duggleby was victorious last weekend with tandem partner Chris McDonald but will be going alone on this occasion.
However, Spindata predicts that early starter George Peden (Team PB Performance) will take victory after winning the Darlington CC 25 last weekend in 49-10.
Chapeau! Vive Le Velo team-mates Darren Yarwood and Neil Cleminshaw could also provide a challenge.
Louise Scupham (Jadan Vive Le Velo) will be looking for a second win of the season in the women’s event after taking victory in the West Pennine RC hilly 14.6 on her last outing.
Spindata predicts Scupham will face tough competition from Josie Smith (Trek Sheffield) with just 10 seconds forecasted to be between the pair.
