Photo: A big field will be heading to South Wales on Saturday as part of another weekend packed full of open time trials with riders looking for fast times.
The Ross-on-Wye & Dis CC 10 will see 100 riders taking part on the out and back A40 between Abergavenny and Raglan for the afternoon event.
Christopher Gibbard (Bynea Cycling Club) starts as last man having won three events last month in the district.
Gruffudd Lewis (Ribble Weldtite Pro Cycling) is a likely challenger having won the Bynea CC 10 in a time of 20-35 while B Xavier Disley (AeroCoach) is searching for an opening win of the season.
Megan Dickerson (Škoda DSI Cycling Academy) has won a host of events so far this season and will be looking to increase her tally in the women’s event.
Dickerson won The University of Bristol Cycling Club 10 in 21-34 last month.
A close battle could be brought by Jessica Rhodes-Jones (AeroCoach) who clocked 21-41 on her way to finishing second in the Worcester St Johns CC 10 in June.
Hayley Simmonds (CAMS Racing) has the road bike competition record in her sights and will attempt the feat in the road bike category.
After winning three national women’s titles last season Emily Meakin (Drops- Le Col s/b Tempur) is yet to ride an open time trial this year.
However, she will head a competitive women’s field in Saturday’s Macclesfield Wheelers 25 on the J2/9 course in Cheshire.
Abi Smith (Team Breeze) has been in fine form winning several events and placing fourth in the National Circuit Championships and will provide tough competition for Meakin.
Likewise the Storey Racing duo of Corrine Hall and Lora Fachie will also be looking to test their legs.
Meanwhile, John Archibald (Eolo Kometa) will be looking to record a third win of the season in the men’s event.
The Northampton & District CA 10 takes place on Saturday afternoon on the out and back N1/10 course near Yaxley in Cambridgeshire.
Veteran Paul Pardoe (Peterborough CC) is on fine form winning on his last two outings including a time of 18-33 on his way to winning the ECCA 10.
He could face competition from George Fox (George Fox Cycling Solutions) who took victory in the Leo 30 last month.
The women’s event also has a competitive field with Lindsay Clarke (Fenland Clarion CC) the last starter.
A big field of 18 tandems are due to compete for honours in Saturday’s Sotonia 10 on the revised P164 10 course near Lyndhurst in Hampshire.
The veteran pairing of Ian Neville (Hart Evolution Race Team) and Ray Hughes (Crabwood Cycling Club) are the last tandem away.
Meanwhile, in the individual event under-23 rider Jordan Giles (Southampton University Road Cycling Club) will start as last man while Lucy Gadd (Storey Racing) is amongst the women competitors.
Early on Sunday morning a big field of 98 riders will be taking on the C.C Breckland 100 with Paul Hart (Hart Performance Coaching) starting as scratch rider.
After winning the Icknield RC 10 earlier this season Timothy Torrie (TBW23 Stuart Hall Cycling P/b Trainsharp) will be looking to extend his winning tally in Sunday’s Essex Roads CC 10.
Amongst the women’s field is under-23 rider Zoe Burrell (Will Houghton Racing Team) who faces tough competition.
The Inter Service’s TT Championships takes place on Sunday on the Norton Manor course in Taunton.
Alexander Royle (Manchester Bicycle Club) will be going for honours in the men’s event but faces tough teams from the Royal Navy, RAF and Army Cycling.
Meanwhile, veteran Christina Murray (Army Cycling) will start last in the women’s event.
The Derwent Reservoir Time Trial also takes place on Sunday in the North West with a point to point event over 9.9 miles.
Finlay Robertson (Derwentside CC) will start as last man having won two events last month, while Joanne Rea (Team Kirkley Cycles) is an early starter in the women’s event.
The final event of the weekend sees the Dukinfield 50 take place on Sunday afternoon over almost four laps of the J4/9 course near Northwich.
Richard Sharp (Chapeau! Vive Le Velo) starts as last man having won the Vive Le Velo 10 last month in 19-05.
Amongst his challengers is Jack Levick (Rose Race Team) who has finished runner-up on two occasions this season.
Veteran Claire Harrison (Congleton CC) and Joanna Cebrat (Bury Clarion CC) will be part of the women’s field looking for victory.
