ROUND 3 RTTC CLASSIC SERIES TT

Pride of place goes to round three of the RTTC Classic Series time trial promoted by the Beacon RCC at Great Witley, Worcestershire, on Sunday. Headline entries include Philip Graves (Clifton CC York), Claire Rose(Podium Ambition-Club La Santa) and Mark Turnbull (TORQ Performance) all winners in round two.

Graves, looking for his 11th win of the season,faces and the same competitors that filled the five places behind him in round two, Tejvan Pettinger (Sri Chinmoy CT), Brett Harwood (Terry Wright Cycles), Matt Clinton (Mike Vaughan Cycles), Jack O'Neil (Mike Vaughan Cycles) and Christopher Fennell (Thanet RC). Add in Dean Robson (Nopinz) and Richard Bussell (AeroCoach) and the challenge to Graves increases.

Claire Rose has won the first two legs of the Women's Classic Series and if she has recovered from her recent stage race performances should mark up number three, although her team mate Sarah Storey will no doubt be the major here.

Mark Turnbull has Paul Robinson (Lyme RC) and Greg Parker (VC St Raphael) among his opposition while David Murphy (Liverpool Mercury Dolan CC) and Matthew Robertson (Woolwich CC) return to compete in the Paracycling event.

All riders face 39 miles in this the Beacon RCC's Jack Clement Memorial Little Mountain Time Trial. The first rider is off at 08.01 with Graves last away at 10-46. Event HQ is at Great Witley Village Hall.

SNAP-SHOT

A quick snap-shot of the weekend's other events has International like Steven Burke (Team Wiggins) riding the Leigh Premier RC `10` on Saturday and Sunday's Otley CC `25`; Scott Davies (Team Wiggins) is down for the Ogmore Valley Wheelers `25`. although he is currently riding the Tour of Croatia, where if he turns out he will have to beat Joshua Williams (Team Bottrill); former Junior Champion Ryan Mullen (Cannondale) takes a break from the European road scene to ride the Fibrax Wrexham hilly `32`.

The SSLL RT have Alastair Wareham going for the 40.5-mile Teesdale RC event while his team mates Andy Jackson, Joel Wainman and Simon Beldon are down for the Yorkshire CF `25`.
