Photo: Marcin Bialoblocki was just 13 seconds short of breaking his own national competition record, while Alice Lethbridge was fastest female at the Ogmore Valley Wheelers 25-mile time trial in South Wales on Sunday.
Bialoblocki, the 34-year-old Polish rider who lives in Bridgwater, clocked an impressive 44-16 to win the event by more than four and a half minutes with the second fastest time ever.
Fastest woman was reigning National 100-mile and National 12-hour champion Alice Lethbridge, who clocked 51-06 to win by 1-38 from DRAG2ZERO team-mate Vicky Gill.
In County Durham, James Gullen (JLT Condor) raced to victory in the Teesdale CRC mountain time trial, covering the 38.6-mile course near Barnard Castle in 1-46-07 to win by just over three minutes from Carl Donaldson (GS Metro).
Donaldson’s team-mate Fiona Burnie (GS Metro) was fastest female, her time of 2-15-55 being almost seven minutes faster than runner-up Jennifer Batey (Tricademy).
In Surrey, Ben Elliot (Paceline RT) and Elise Sherwell (Look Mum No Hands!) were fastest at the Addiscombe CC 25 near Beare Green.
Elliot clocked 55-07 to take his first open win of the season, while Sherwell’s time of 1-03-50 gave her the win in the women’s category by 15 seconds.
Both the men’s and women’s course records fell in the Ravensthorpe CC 10-mile event in West Yorkshire on Saturday, Simon Beldon (Team Bottrill-Vanguard) covering the V910 in 19.52 while Fiona Sharp (Team Swift) set a new women’s course record of 24-46.
In Gloucestershire David Janes and Joanne Jago were the fastest male and female riders respectively as Gloucester City CC staged a 25-mile time trial on Saturday.
Janes (Wheels of Dorset-Aero Testing) clocked 52.40 for the course to take the win by more than three minutes from Paul Atkins (Kenilworth Wheelers), while just 18 seconds further back in third was Bristol South CC’s espoir Josh Griffiths.
And in the women’s category Jago covered the course in 1-06-43 to take victory by almost four minutes from the next best female, Joanna Knight (Bristol South CC).
Down in Kent there were wins for Neil Lauder (PMR @ Toachim House) and Ruth Summerford (Eastbourne Rovers CC) at the Catford CC 10 on Saturday, while at the Kent CA 10 on Sunday Chris Fennell (Independent Pedaler) and Rebecca Wilson (Rye and District Wheelers) were the winners.
And in Northumberland, 16-year-old Thomas Prentice led GS Metro to a 1-2-3 and the team prize at North Tyneside Riders’ 27-mile event near Rothbury on Sunday.
He covered the M27 course in 1-08-30, while Zeb Kyffin and Dan Meggison were second and third.
Fastest female was Gemma Frost (Team Swift) with a time of 1-21-02, giving her the win by more than five and a half minutes from Miriam Jessett (Tyneside Vagabonds CC).
In Bedfordshire, Richard Price (London Phoenix CC) and Helen Reynolds (Hemel Hempstead CC) were the fastest male and female riders respectively at the Bossard Wheelers charity 10-mile time trial.
And in Lincolnshire, John Brearley (Squadra RT) clocked 20-07 on his way to victory in the Barton Wheelers 10, while Laura Walker (Team Bottrill-Vanguard) was fastest female with 26-44.
