Well it’s time for the first blog of the year. So far this year has been a tough one with the step up to U23’s and living alone in Coventry. I haven’t had the opportunity to race as much as I did last year due to work commitments and having to drive myself to races with the expense of petrol and time to get to races.

For this reason, I am extremely thankful for CTT for offering me the scholarship for a second year. It has helped me enter races and fund the transport to races further afield.

                   Last 20M of the 2Up TT I completed even when I crashed 2 miles in Shredding my brand-new skinsuit and                                 smashing my right shoulder up.  Adrenaline got me round this course.

Over the past few months I have done races around Coventry getting used to new courses and a new set of competitors. 

I have had a few results I am happy with from the year such as my 20:36 on the E2/10 in the hailstones. I then had a 6th Place a month ago on the K48/10 posting a 21:55 on a windy day.

Moving into last weekend I had the UCI Tour of Cambridge Chrono. This is a race I have been prepping for for the past 2 months. With specified training session set by my coach Simon Beldon I felt prepared for race day despite having a rough few months with injury and a spot of illness to boot. Sadly for me the day was just not meant go my way as I dropped my chain off the bike within 500M of the start line losing me around 30 seconds and from then on in it was just a mental battle that I wasn’t winning with worries of my chain coming off again and simply not being able to get the power down on the country lanes of Cambridgeshire.

So due to this I came home and underwhelming 17th in my age category of 19-34. Still only another 15 years in the category. So, plenty of time to make amends.

      My 2019 Bike kitted out with the Knight 90mm Wheels I won at last year’s Knights Classic Series.
