Jennifer George

Jennifer George was fastest female after a dominant display at the Berkhamsted CC 10-mile time trial on Sunday morning, while Adam Robertson held off strong competition to win the men’s event.

Riding for The Independent Pedaler-Nopinz, George’s time of 23-08 saw her finish more than five minutes ahead of nearest rivals Sarah Brydon, riding for the promoting club and finishing in 28-35, and Anne Bennett (Serpentine Running Club), who was a minute back in 29-35.

A closer affair in the men’s event saw Verulam CC’s Robertson set 21-41 to hold off Brandon Baldacci (Lee Valley Youth CC) in 21-57, with Team Salesengine.co.uk rider Ryan Witchell securing third spot in 22-35.

Robertson now has two consecutive wins after claiming first place at the Northampton & District CA 10-mile time trial in 21-22 on September 17, having last triumphed at a time trial in May 2021 at the North Road CC 25-mile time trial.

This event, run on the F12B/10 course, starts just north of Cheddington and heads north west towards Mentmore, passing Mentmore Park and turning south west until reaching Wingrave, where riders head southbound for 3.2 miles until reaching Long Marston, turning left for the final stretch to finish just south of Mentmore.
