George Peden

Kaitlyn Dennis finished as fastest female while George Peden was fastest male at a chilly Farnborough & Camberley 10-mile time trial in Hampshire on Saturday morning.

Oxford University CC rider Dennis secured a comfortable victory in finishing the course in 23-47, 4-05 ahead of second-placed Katie Simmonds from Horsham Cycling who clocked 27-42, while BellaVelo CC’s Becca Lewin completed the event four seconds back in 27-46 to take the final podium spot.

In the men’s event, Peden (Team PB Performance) went the distance in just 19-20 to see off Hoops Velo rider James Boyman who set 19-55 while third place was sealed by Sigma Sports’ Simon McNamara with a time of 20-25.

Although finishing outside his 10-mile personal best of 18-14, this was an encouraging start to the season for Peden, having won three of his final races of the 2022 season including victories at the Darlington CC 25-mile time trial in March, the Yorkshire VTTA 25-mile time trial in April and the Drighlington 10-mile time trial in June to cap an encouraging campaign.

This event, run on the H10/8 course, starts just east of Bentley and heads along the A31 westwards through Froyle towards the Holybourne roundabout, where riders encircle the roundabout and retrace the course through Froyle and the Bentley by-pass before finishing the 10-mile route just short of The Bull public house.
