O’Toole and Wadsley victorious in Bournemouth Arrow 10

Sam Wadsley

Samuel Wadsley was fastest male at the Bournemouth Arrow 10-mile time trial on Friday, while Emma O’Toole was quickest woman over the course near Ringwood in Hampshire.

Having finished second over the same course in 2022, Primera-TeamJobs rider Wadley went one better this year in a time of 21-03 to see off runner-up Alan Murchison (HUUB Wattshop) who was just five seconds back in 21-08, while Alastair Luxford, representing Full Gas Racing Team, clocked 21-22 to seal third place.

In the women’s event, O’Toole (Districts of Hamwic Cyclesport), completed the course in 25-04 to take first place ahead of a3crg rider Kirsty McSeveney in 25-56, with a time of 26-32 saw Emma Caplan (Bournemouth Jubilee Wheelers) take the final podium spot.

In the road bike category, Poole Wheelers Cycling Club rider Alex Rowing was fastest in 22-41, with Dave Dent (GS Stella) second in 23-44 and Malcolm Cox (Velo Club St Raphael) third in 25-12.

Fastest woman in the road bike category went to Sien Van Der Plank of New Forest CC, clocking 27-06.

This 10-mile event, run on the P311 course, starts on Wellworthy Road and proceed west for 32 yards to the new roundabout on B3347 then turns left onto Christchurch Road and south through Bisterne and Avon to the Sopley one-way system where riders turn right over the bridge at the Woolpack pub and retrace to Ringwood via Avon and Bisterne to finish at Moortown Green.
