Simon McNamara (HuntBikeWheels.com) went quickest in the Bec CC 25-mile time trial, while Jennifer George (The Independent Pedaler - Nopinz) set a new course record on her way to victory in the women’s event.

McNamara justified his position as scratch-man with yet another first placed finish. His finishing time of 51 minutes and 31 seconds was the only time on the day sub 52 minutes.

Just a few seconds over that 52-minute mark was Cris Coxon (Brighton Mitre CC) who finished second with a 52:02.

In the final available podium spot was Andy Critchlow (Norwood Paragon CC) who completed the course in a time of 53:05.

The two rides prior to this event saw McNamara on the podium, the latter of those coming at the Addiscombe CC 10 where he won, going sub-20. Claiming back-to-back wins here sets up nicely for a trip to the Sussex CA 10 next week.

In the women’s event it was George that headed the field, completing the 25-mile course in 55 minutes and one second, which knocked 37 seconds off the previous course record set by Joanne Roswell.

Claiming second spot was Gemma Freeman (Sussex Revolution Velo Club), she clocked a time of 1:02:48.

George is familiar to the number one spot, having now won her last three open events. The most recent prior to this being the ECCA 10 last weekend. She also won the …a3crg 10 three days earlier. Next up for George is the National 10-mile Championship which Spindata predicts that she is one of the favorites for.

In the road bike event the winner was Mike Finch, another winner for HuntBikeWheels.com, as their road bike rider clocked a 59:03. As for the women’s road bike event Gillian Selman (Old Portlians CC) was the winner finishing in a time of 1:12.49.
