Jozsef Evans and Matthew Wales (Fibrax Wrexham RC) led the way taking victory by over two minutes in the Warrington Road Club 2-up TTT over 25 miles, while Claire Harrison and Alice Taylor (Congleton CC – MyWindsock) were the fastest women pairing.

Evans and Wales completed the 25-mile course in a winning time of 52 minutes and 27 seconds which was two minutes faster than their nearest rivals.

The J2/9 course saw competitors complete one-and-a-half laps of a 16-mile looped course starting on the A535 heading out towards Knutsford and then back down on the adjacent A50 down to Holmes Chapel and then back across to the start.

Evans also won the Frodsham Wheelers 10 last month while Wales took victory at the SCCA & WCTTA 100 in July.

The pair joined forces for the first time and were rewarded with a convincing victory.

Composite pairing Mark Lovatt (Congleton CC – MyWindsock) and Chris Quin (Bioracer UK RT) led the fight behind taking second in 54-31.

In a close fight for the podium positions the Tactic Sport UK Race Team pair of Stephen Feeney and Peter Lindfield finished a further 15 seconds behind (54-46) in third.

In the women’s event the Congleton CC – MyWindsock pair of veteran Harrison and Taylor were comfortable winners with their time of 1-01-36 over three minutes clear of their nearest rivals.

A close battle for second saw the composite pair of Laura Oldroyd (Knutsford Tri Club) and Katy Armitage (Total Tri Training) finish second in 1-05-04 which was just 44 seconds quicker than Katherine Swithenbank and Nicola Cadwallader (360cycling).
