Adam Robertson (Verulam CC) took victory by just seven seconds in the Northampton & District CA 10, while Hayley Moore (Ilkeston Cycle Club) won the women’s event by a larger margin.

In his second open time trial of the season Robertson recorded a winning time of 21 minutes and 22 seconds.

The NC16N saw riders compete over a 10-mile loop on unclassified roads heading out towards Clipston and Sibbertoft before a brief section on the A5199 before heading back to the start/finish.

On his only other open time trial this season Robertson finished seventh in the National Circuit Championships.

This time out his winning time of 21-22 was just seven seconds quicker than veteran David Mead (Hinckley CRC) who battled all the way before stopping the clock in 21-29.

Early starter Sam McDonald (St Neots CC) completed the podium positions completing the course in 22-33.

Spindata had predicted a victory for Robertson in 21-00, he still won the event but was 22 seconds slower than that prediction.

In the women’s event Moore was a clear winner with her time of 26-31 some 49 seconds clear of her nearest rival.

Veteran rider Moore was beaten into second in the Coalville Wheelers 19.8 on her last outing but was not to be denied this time out.

Tonya Smith (Fenland Clarion CC) led the chase behind stopping the clock in 27-20 which was 20 seconds faster than Larissa Alexander (Coalville Wheelers) in 27-40.
