Beardmore and Doran best in the Wrekinsport CC 18
Tim Beardmore (Bridgnorth CC) rode the winning time in the Wrekinsport CC 18-mile time trial event near Telford, while Victoria Doran (Wrekinsport CC) was the victor in the women’s event on Saturday afternoon.
Beardmore was just three seconds quicker in the charity event than his nearest rival. Second fastest was Thomas Bill (Stafford Triathlon Club) who clocked 41:02 and in third place was Tomos Hales of the promoting club, who finished in 41:10 to complete the podium.
In the women’s event it was Doran who claimed top spot, riding a time of 1:02:09.
The event used the triangular K21/18e course. It starts near Stableford and heads north west towards Sutton Maddock, before turning south on the A442 through Norton and on to Bridgnorth. They turn again at this point, heading east to eventually turn back onto the B4176 near Upper Ludstone towards the finish.
Beardmore’s time was more than a minute quicker than the last time he rode the event back in October, where he placed fourth in 42-25. But he clocked a 40-54 to place third in this same event in 2020.
