Paul Pardoe

Paul Pardoe (Peterborough CC) was victorious in the Kings Lynn CC 25-mile time trial, while Verity Smith (Loose Cannon’s Conditioning) came out on top in the women’s event.

40-year-old Pardoe went around the B25/33 course in a time of 53:26. In second was Lloyd Chapman (Loose Cannon’s Conditioning) who clocked in at 54:22, while the final podium spot went to Chris Holmes (Twickenham CC) who finished in 55:03.

Pardoe is yet to finish outside of the top 10 this season, his lowest placed finish of the year was seventh in his first ride of the year, in April. Since then he has gone on a 10 event run of form that has seen him finish inside the top three every time and winning three of the last four.

In the women’s event it was Verity Smith that claimed the top prize. She got around the course in 1:04:50.

Sally Withey (Swift Racing) came second with a time of 1:11:46, while third place went to 65-year-old Caroline Wyke (CC Sudbury), who clocked in at 1:31:24.

Smith most recently had a second placed finish in an outing which saw her ride 15 miles in a CC Breckland event. Prior to that she had another win in the Wisbech Wheelers 25, which means she has won two of the last three and has three consecutive podium finishes through months June-July-August.

Chapman started as scratchman after a run of three wins leading up to this event, but he was unable to get the best of Pardoe.

The popular course takes riders from a start near RAF Marham south through Wereham and on to Mundford on the A134, where they turn back and retrace.
