Reaching the line 14 seconds quicker than his nearest rival, Graham Knight (JCA Equipe Velo) was victorious in the Kettering CC 20-mile time trial staged on the NC1a course near Brigstock, Northamptonshire, on Sunday.

The 33-year-old clocked 44.26 to beat last year’s winner Andy Jackson (SSLL Racing Team) into second spot, while VC Equipe rider Kristian Woolf was third, another 29 seconds back.

Defending women’s winner from 2016, Leicester 51-year-old Linda Hubbard (Welland Valley CC) was again the fastest female, and improved on her time from 12 months ago with 54.13, more than two minutes quicker than last year.

It was Knight’s first win of the season, but comes after having taken victory in the Watford Velo Sport 25 last August, as well as second in Ratae RC’s 25-mile time trial back in September.

Knight has also entered the Hemel Hempstead CC 21.5 on April 2 and the Icknield RC 30km the following Sunday.
