Adam Kenway claimed his second victory of the day, winning the Bolsover and District Hill Climb held at the picturesque Hardwick Hall on Sunday evening.

The race was held under the floodlights, with a supportive crowd really helping to create a unique atmosphere for the 85-strong field of riders.

The 670 metre climb’s course record was broken by Kenway, as he became the first person to dip under the 80-second mark in a time of 1.19.

He had earlier won the Cat and Fiddle hill climb in Cheshire, for the second successive season, completing an excellent day for the Matlock CC rider.

Former course record holder Danny Featherstone (Andy Moore Autocentres Racing) claimed second place, setting a personal best time of 1.22.

Callum Brown (100% ME) completed the top three coming home in a time of 1.23, just one second further back.

The women’s course record was also smashed in the competition courtesy of Lou Bates, a time of 1.46 comfortably claiming the women’s prize.

The Veloschils Interbike rider finished eight seconds ahead of second place Emilie Verroken (Langsett Cycles RT) and 11 seconds ahead of Rebecca Goodson (Sheffrec CC) in third.

Sean Sleigh was the first of the veterans in the field, with a good time of 1.42 placing him five seconds ahead of his nearest rival.
