Matt Clinton (Mike Vaughan Cycles) set a blistering time of 50 minutes and 28 seconds to take a clear victory in the Birmingham Midland CC 25.
After securing fourth in the National 50 Championship last month Clinton showed that he is a force to be reckoned with over the shorter distance.
He flew around the flat triangular circuit which riders had to complete twice and recorded close to a course record time despite a testing headwind towards the finish.
Clinton's time was comfortably the fastest on the daywith Liam Bromley (University of Bath CC) finishing second in 51.57.
Fastest veteran and third place rider overall was David Mead (Hinckley Cycle Racing Club) who clocked a 53.10.
Going under the hour to clinch the fastest women's prize was Liz Powell (Mike Vaughan Cycles) in 59.49.
