James Copeland (Fareham CC) took victory by almost a minute in the Sotonia CC 25-mile time trial staged on the P128 near Bartley in Hampshire on Saturday.
The 32-year-old set a blistering time of 53.39 and clocked an average speed of nearly 28 miles per hour. His time was easily enough to clinch victory and one place better than his second place in the Wessex RC 24 last month.
Copeland’s previous results include a ninth place in the RTTC National Championship last season when he clocked an average speed of over 29 miles per hour.
Behind Copeland was team-mate Gary Chambers who clocked 54.36 to clinch second ahead of Edward Nicholson (Team Bottrill) whose 55.13 was enough for him to round off the podium.
First woman rider was Michelle Walter (Bournemouth Arrow CC) in 1:08.04.
