Veteran rider Greg Parker (Velo Club St Raphael) set an emphatic time of 52 minutes 26 seconds to take victory in the Bournemouth & District WCA 25 by over a minute.

His time was much faster than the 53.10 he recorded in the Wessex RC 24 last month.

The 51-year-old was the quickest of the field and knocked local rider Mark Denney (Poole Wheelers) into second with a 53.38.

Third place went to John Samways (Bournemouth Jubilee Wheelers) in 53.42, while first junior Samuel Wadsley (Poole Wheelers) clocked a 54.15 which was a four minute improvement on last year and enough for fifth overall.

First youth rider was 14-year-old Barney Clacy who set a 1:07.35.

Meanwhile in the women’s event Julia Shaw (Drag2Zero) set a blistering 55.57 which saw her take victory by over eight minutes from Sarah Wise (Mud Sweatngears CC) and Sandy Bell (Sotonia CC) finished third.
