Matt Clinton (Mike Vaughan Cycles) took victory by 35 seconds in the Veterans’ TTA Midlands 10 near Rugby on Saturday.

The 31-year-old cruised around the 10-mile circuit clocking a time of 20.01, while behind him the battle for second was won by Jonathan Wears (SSLL Racing Team) in 20.36 with Team Bottrill rider James Perkins rounding off the podium in 20.54.

First veteran and fourth overall was Simon Norman (Bedfordshire RT) in 20.56 while the first woman was won by 50-year-old Lucy Walters (Team Echelon-Rotor).

Sixteen-year-old Jamie Bowman (Rugby Velo) was the top junior clocking a time in 25.19.

Top team on the day was Team Bottrill whose top three riders all finished in the top 12 places.
