Hinxman at the double in A5 Rangers events

Despite a poor turnout for the A5 Rangers 10 in Towcester, Northamptonshire, Gavin Hinxman of Kettering CC put in a good ride to take the top prize, his second in as many days.

After winning the 34-mile event by the same organisers the day before, his time of 22.08 was enough for him to top the podium with Jered Allcock (Banbury Star 1891 CC) second with 23.12.

Peterborough CC’s Graham Wright was third with a time of 24.42. Andrew Ilsley (Baines Racing) took the Mike Lumb Memorial Trophy for getting closest to his personal best with 28.12.

Organiser Steve Cockell is mystified as to why the event attracted such a small field. He said: “It seems to have just fallen through the floor and I can’t put my finger on it at all. We had 30 to 40 riders in the event last year.”
