start on north side of the a172 carriageway, at grate opposite west entrance to large layby, approx 1/2 mile west of swainby and proceed easterly towards stokesley baths roundabout (6.15mls). take 3rd exit onto a173 and continue towards and through great ayton, taking care at sharp left hand bend at bridge. continue on a173 towards guisborough, taking left exit at roundabout at garage on east end of village. passing through newton under roseberry, continue to roundabout on main a171 middlesbrough/guisborough road, local to pinchinthorpe (12.3mls). circle the roundabout and retrace outward journey, taking care when passing through great ayton and negotiating stokesley roundabout (18.44mls) to finish at a grate on north side of road, approx. 0.4mls west of start, approx 1 mile west of swainby.
