start: in the hard standing, at the south west corner of the standing immediately joining the road. the hard standing being immediately north of the round about at the end of the spine road, on the east of the a419 dual carriageway. the minor road with the hard standing leading towards driffield. course: leave the hard standing, and first left at the rab to take the road towards latton. pass through latton, and on reaching the rab to the south, take the 2nd exit to join the a419 dual carriageway. progress south on the a419, taking the first exit to cricklade. at the rab at the end of slip road, turn to rejoin the a419 heading north. pass several junctions, the a419 becoming the a417. exit on the burford road junction, at the rab take the 3rd exit to pass over the a417 dc. at the next rab taking the 3rd exit, to rejoin the a417 heading south. remain on the a417 until reaching the spine road exit, where exit to pass the start. at the rab take the 2nd exit, straight across to latton. this defines the first loop. do this main loop 3 times, each loop being 15.31 miles. on completing the 3rd loop, on leaving the dc and proceeding south towards latton, before reaching latton (0.7 miles south of the starting rab), take the major left to down ampney. pass through down ampney, and on to meysey hampton. on reaching the a417 (single carriageway) turn left onto the a417. follow the a417 through poulton, ampney st peter, ampney crucis towards cirencester. immediately after passing over the a417 dual carriageway take the next left down kingshill lane, follow kingshill lane until it joins swindon/cirencester road at a t junction. turn left onto swindon road becoming cirencester road. at the rab joining the dc, take the 2nd exit (sharp right) to proceed down minor road parallel to the a419 dc. at the rab on the spine road, take first left to cross over the a419 dc. at the next rab (the start rab) take the 2nd exit (right) towards latton. this ends the ampney major loop. proceed to perform the ampney major loop a four more times, finish during the fourth on the a419 sc cirencester road. finish: finish is in line with a “29 regt. j.a.m.c” sign, immediately opposite the entrance to the 29th regiment, to the north of the airfield.
