start on the a377 in the lay-by outside the entrance to portsmouth arms railway station (50°57'25.9"n 3°57'02.2"w) proceed south west passing by kings nympton railway station, eggesford, lapford and onto morchard road. on entering morchard road take the left turning signposted morchard bishop just after the devonshire dumpling pub (50°49'47.7"n 3°46'29.6"w) – immediately turn right at the end of the grass traffic island and then rejoin the a377. take great care when crossing the traffic flow – proceed and turn right onto the a377 and retrace outward route through lapford, eggesford and finish just past the kings nympton railway station level with riverside cross approximately 2.5 miles short of the start. the finish point is by the south end of the garages located at riverside cross. (50°56'24.5"n 3°54'30.7"w) intermediate mileage – turn 13.8 miles.
