2021 champion Chris Gibbard (Bynea CC) is targeting another win at the Welsh 10-Mile Championships this Sunday, but will have to power past Conrad Moss (Nopinz) to take victory.

Meanwhile, the top two women last year, Bethan Ouseley (Pembrokeshire Velo) and Emma Wyatt (Hereford & District CC) will be back to battle it out for the women’s title.

Anthony Jones (VMCC powered by Y Beic) was second last year and is aiming to go one better this time as he joins hundreds of other riders taking on the R10/17 course near Raglan, Monmouthshire, on Sunday morning.

Elsewhere Robert Francis (Pronto Bikes) is the pre-race favourite to make it three wins in a row at the Bristol South CC 50 in Gloucestershire, after his victory at the Tetbury Velos 10 last weekend and the Swindon Road Club and Swindon Wheelers 50 the week before.

Nick Livermore (Bristol South CC) and Tony Chapman (Frome and District Wh) are also likely to be on the podium too, while fastest female looks set to be Jordan Matthews (Fulfil the Potential RT).

Also over 50 miles, it’s the North Devon Velo event which doubles up as the South West District Championships. Donald Brooks (Mid-Devon CC) and Simon Marshall (Cranbrook CC) are names to look out for, while Cranbrook CC’s Alice Lake and the promoting club’s Rebecca Cornwell are among the female riders, with Cornwell choosing a road bike.

In North Yorkshire it’s the Teesside District 25-mile Championships staged jointly by Cleveland Coureurs and the VTTA North, on a course near Crathorne on Sunday.

Darlington CC’s Marcel Schubert is the top seed, while Abi Smith (Moonglu CC) looks set to be fastest female after winning the Pendle Forest CC 10 last weekend.

There’s a large field for the Finsbury Park CC 25 on Saturday, taking place on the F2 course near Cambourne in Cambridgeshire.

Spindata has Paul Willcox (North Road CC) and Liam Maybank (Twickenham CC) down as ones to watch, alongside Sam McDonald (St Neots CC) and espoir Kieran Morris (Total Tri Training).

National 50 and 100 champion Emily Martin (Team Bottrill) is top of the female riders, while Louise Robinson (Essex Roads CC) won’t be far behind.

Other Sunday events include the Shropshire CCA four-up 50-kilometre event near Newport, as well as the Colchester Rovers CC 50 in Essex.

In West Sussex it’s the Team TMC 10 on Sunday morning, while near Fontwell it’s the Chichester Citty Riders 10.
