The time trial season picks up the pace this weekend with 15 events taking place across the country and some top riders coming out to ride.

Resolven in South Wales is the venue for the Bynea CC 10-mile event on Sunday, with national ranking system Spindata predicting a close-run thing between the top riders.

Port Talbot Wheelers’ Ben Jones and Chris Gibbard of the promoting Bynea CC are both predicted to clock 20-12, while behind them talented junior Finlay Tarling (Willebrord Wil Vooruit) and Anthony Jones (VMCC powered by Y Beic) are also expected to be in contention for the podium.

And of the female entrants Bethan Ouseley (Pembrokeshire Velo) and Hollie Labunsky (Port Talbot Wheelers) are expected to do well.

Elsewhere, the Maidenhead and District CC 29.5-mile takes place near Frieth in Berkshire, where Team Bottrill’s Kate Allan looks to take overall victory after placing second last year.

The multiple reigning national champion is tipped by Spindata to clock around 1-08-54, with top male expected to be Theo Tadros (trainSharp) around 4-5 minutes slower.

In Essex, the Hainault Road Club hilly 31.1-mile event takes place near Navestock, with Matt Steel (Pronto Bikes), Paul Turton (Team Vision Racing) and Luke Walton (Elevate) among the fastest riders taking place.

Wrekinsport CC are holding an 18-mile charity time trial on Saturday, with Paramount CRT’s Mason Durant tipped by Spindata to take the win, while Bridgnorth CC vet Tim Beardmore shouldn’t be too far behind.

Deb Hutson-Lumb

Of the women the promoting club’s Deb Hutson-Lumb should be victorious.

After winning last weekend’s Chippenham and District Wheelers 14-mile event last weekend Jake Sargent (Team Bottrill) could challenge for the win at the Bath CC 24-mile event in Gloucestershire, while Robert Francis (Pronto Bikes) and James Pittard (Univ of Bristol CC) will also be up there.

And in Northamptonshire Kettering CC are holding a 20-mile event near Lowick, with George Fox (George Fox Cycling Solutions) and Ryan Witchell (Team Salesengine.co.uk) expected to compete for the win.

In Cumbria it’s the Border City Wheelers hilly 13.5-mile time trial near High Heskett on Sunday, with Team Kirkley Cycles’ Lewis Wake and Richard Nesfield (Giant Kendal Sidas) looking likely to challenge for the top three alongside Marc Anderson (GTR Return to Life).

Other events this weekend include the Jem Hadar and Yorkshire VTTA 10-mile event near Boroughbridge, with categories for non aero road bikes, steel frame bikes and fixed wheel bikes.

And over in Cheshire, Manchester and District TTA are holding the first round of the Cheshire Points Series near Byley.

Farnborough and Camberley CC’s 10-mile event on Saturday has George Peden (Team PB Performance) and James Boyman (Hoops Velo) as well as Simon McNamara (Sigma Sport-Cannondale).

And Simon McNamara goes on to ride the Sussex CA 25-mile event the following day on a road bike, while brother Simon McNamara tackles the same event but on a time trial machine.
