The great and the good of the time trialling world came together to celebrate the achievements of the CTT champions of 2022, at a Champions’ Luncheon in Northamptonshire last weekend.

The event at the Staverton Park Hotel near Daventry was attended by both individual and team champions from CTT title races, where they were presented with their gold caps, commemorative medals and silverware.

Around 150 riders and their guests attended the event, including the Champion of Champions Chris Fennell (The Independent Pedaler-Nopinz) and Kate Allan (Team Bottrill).

Also present were the mixed winning team from the National 12-Hour Championships and the first National Para Cycling Champions Ben Hetherington (HUUB WattShop) and Katie Toft (Storey Racing).

The guest of honour was Jeremy Wilson, Chief Sports Writer for the Telegraph Newspaper Group, who has recently written a book about the life of Beryl Burton. He was joined on stage by Beryl’s daughter Denise Burton-Cole, making up a dynamic duo!

Prizes had been donated for a raffle which raised nearly £500 and included a Kalas cycling jersey signed by Mark Cavendish, two top bike helmets from Limar flown in from Italy, while Nopinz provided special tops for the para cyclist champions.
