Fast times are expected in South Wales on Sunday as a strong field battle for victory at the Sportzmad 10.

Richard Bussell (AeroCoach) is unbeaten from three open time trials this season and clocked 19-47 on his last outing at the Alltrax 10 clocking 19-47, he starts as scratch man.

However, with the Alltrax event back in May his form is unknown ahead of Sunday’s event and he will have to beat local challenger Anthony Jones (VMCC powered by Y Beic).

David Griffiths (Holohan Coaching Race Team) will also provide strong competition after winning the Oswestry Paragon 10 in 19-24 last month while B Xavier Disley (AeroCoach) and Tom Biggs (Cheltenham & County CC) will be amongst the other challengers.

Spindata predicts that Bussell will take victory in an impressive 18-27 finishing a minute clear of his challengers.

Jessica Rhodes-Jones (AeroCoach) is using the event as preparation for next week’s National 10-mile Championships in the women’s event and faces veteran Joanna Knight (Bristol South Cycling Club) amongst others.

Tomos Hales (Wrekinsport CC) will be hoping to repeat his victory last weekend in Saturday’s Fibrax Wrexham RC 25 taking place in Shropshire.

Hales might be the in-form man but Spindata predicts that scratch man Jozsef Evans, of the host club, will take victory after posting 50-56 in the B.D.C.A 25 last month.

In the women’s event Laura Gray (Total Tri Training) is predicted by Spindata to take victory in 1-01-03 but she could be pushed all the way by local rider Deb Hutson-Lumb (Wrekinsport CC).

A close battle for the podium positions is expected at the Rutland CC 10 where Adam Duggleby (Chapeau! Vive Le Velo) starts as last man looking to revenge a rare defeat last weekend.

Spindata has him finishing 50 seconds clear of his rivals but with 14 seconds separating the next four riders it could be a close finish.

Meanwhile, Sarah Harrison (Sheffield Triathlon Club) is expected to lead the charge in the women’s event.

Also preparing for next week’s National 10-mile Championships is Joanna Patterson (Wahoo Endurance Zone p/b Le Col ) who will be refining her form at the GTR-Return To Life P/B Streamline 10.

A one-two is predicted for the host club by Spindata with scratch rider Chris Smart chased home by team-mate Marc Anderson.

Some 120 riders are set to compete on Saturday evening at the Wigan Whs CC 10.

On the fast L1015 course the victory is for the taking with Spindata predicting the top-10 to be separated by 15 seconds headed by David Ashton (Army Cycling).

David Fellows (Solihull CC) will be targeting a hill climb triple on Sunday starting with the Zurbaran Racing event in the morning, Yorkshire RC race at 1pm followed by the Sitwell CC evening event.

Amongst the women’s hill climb competitors looking for early glory will be Sarah Wilkinson (Blaydon CC) and Joanna Blackburn (High North Performance).

Honours will be on the line at the Wigan Whs CC 30 on Sunday incorporating the VTTA National 30 Championships.

Keith Ainsworth (Lindsey Roads Cycling Club) starts as last man but will have to see off competition from Richard Bieau (Pendle Forest CC) amongst others in the men’s event.

The women’s competition will see Carol Westmorland (Border City Whs CC) start last one minute behind rival Sue Cheetham (North Lancashire Road Club).
