O10/1Jack Levick (Rose Race Team) secured his third win of 2025 at the Tickhill Velo Club 10-Mile Time Trial on 2 August 2025, posting an unbeaten 19:48 in South Yorkshire. Ruth Anness (Velo Bavarian) claimed the women’s title on her course debut with 24:24, in a sun-drenched event that drew 70 entrants across TT bikes, road bikes, and tricycles.
Even Conditions on the O10/1 Course
The O10/1, a 10-mile route starting on the A614 and heading south to Blaxton roundabout before retracing north, featured light winds and sunshine, making for even pacing both ways. Levick dipped under 20 minutes for the first time on this course, beating Benjamin Williams (Team Bottrill) (19:54) by six seconds and Andy Thomas (Lindsey Roads Cycling Club) (21:05) for third. “It was nice to finally dip under 20 minutes here—this was my first solo TT 11 years ago,” Levick said. “No wind to note, so it was just staying on the gas all the way and hanging on.”
Anness enjoyed her debut, finishing ahead of Sarah Harrison (Team Sheffield) (24:56) and Isla Woolf (Matlock CC) (26:06). “I'd ridden the course for warm-up, noting the tight roundabout and slight crosswind,” she said. “I paced it well, clocked a new 20-minute power PB, and held on for the finish. A great event—thank you Tickhill Velo Club!” Jenny Down (Tickhill Velo Club) led the women’s road bike with 31:28, while Mark Wolstenholme (VTTA (Yorkshire)) topped the open road bike with 22:07 (10th overall).
Age Group Highlights
The event highlighted performers across age groups, with Veteran categories (40+ in 5-year bands) showcasing endurance. In the open field Phillip Tyas (Barnsley Road Club) (AG 40-44) topped his band with 22:09, Simon Inman (OVB) (AG 50-54) led with 22:30, and Andy Thomas (Lindsey Roads Cycling Club) (55-59) won his with 21:05. Eddie Humphreys (Nottingham Clarion CC) (AG 60-64) claimed his band with 21:27, and William Campbell (VTTA (Manchester & NW Group)) bell (AG 70-74) with 29:14. Alan Gay (Vive Le Velo) (AG 75-79) put in a solid 32:47, and Mike Cole (Cleveland Wheelers CC) (AG 80-84) rode a 29:37. For women, Sarah Harrison (Team Sheffield) (AG 50-54) put in a speedy 24:56, with Jenny Down (Tickhill Velo Club) (AG 60-64) riding a solid 31:28.
Future Ambitions
Levick, with wins at the Yorkshire Cycling Federation 50 and Fenland Clarion 25, eyes the Vive Le Velo 10 on August 10 and Eastern Counties CA 50 on August 17. Anness, praising the friendly event, plans to return to the O10/1. Their triumphs underscore the appeal of this South Yorkshire classic.
