Bartley and Gill topped the podium in Cambridgeshire

Chris Bartley and Vicky Gill topped the podium as fastest male and female at the Shaftesbury CC 50-mile time trial which took place near Six Mile Bottom in Cambridgeshire.

Bartley (AS Test Team) finished his run with a time of 1-35-08 to top the standings as the fastest overall male.

The 35-year-old was has had numerous podium finishes throughout the open season, most notably finishing third at the National 50-mile Championship at the end of June.

He most recently topped the podium at the Blazing Saddles 50 in June and will be hoping to continue his good form over the remaining months of this campaign. The AS Test Team rider is next due to ride at the Reading CC 10 next weekend.

Daniel Northover (Finsbury Park CC) claimed the second step on the podium after finishing his run with a time of 1-38-05.

Northover has topped the podium on various occasions throughout the open season, most recently clinching the top prize at the a3crg Mid-Week Men’s Special 10 on Wednesday. The 42-year-old will be looking to continue his good form as he is due to ride at the a3crg Rapido 15 on Wednesday.

Vicky Gill (Drag2zero) clocked a time of 1-49-40 to finish as the fastest female respectively.

The Drag2zero rider recently finished third at the National 50-mile Championship and most recently topped the podium at the East District CA 100 on the 14th of July.

She is next due to ride at the National 25-mile Championships next weekend and will be hoping to add more positive results to her personal record.

Angela Carpenter (a3crg) finished second in the women’s event with a time of 1-52-56.

Adam Duggleby and Steve Bate (Vive le Velo) clocked a fantastic time of 1-32-10 to top the standings in the tandem event.
