Description
The event takes place on the iconic Ditchling Beacon just outside Brighton in the South Downs National Park. The event HQ is at Ditchling Village Hall which will be open from 7:30am for signing on. There is indoor space for riders to warm up with rollers/turbo etc, and refreshments will be served with all proceeds going to charity.
We offer equal prize money to men and women, with a cash prize of £50 for anyone who can beat the event records (set by Pete Tadross: 4:22.0 and Marryka Sennema: 5:03.4) and an extra £50 if a rider breaks the course records (set by
Stuart Dangerfield 3:42.2 and Marryka Sennema: 5:03.4).
This year there will also be a special prize of a Jura merino cycling jersey for the rider who improves their event time by the largest margin.
We warmly welcome riders of all abilities from all clubs - particularly those who have never ridden the Beacon 'in anger' before.
Please add a note on your entry of your best time on the Beacon (in or out of competition). Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any queries or requests.
