Speedy youngster Abbey Thompson was quickest female, while Harley Matthews (DAP CC) was overall fastest at the VC Norwich 10-mile time trial in Norfolk on Sunday morning.
Thompson, a juvenile riding for Stonham Barns Park-SYRT, clocked 27-03 and was the fastest female overall, while Matthews clocked 20-30 to take overall victory by 26 seconds from Oliver Milk (Epic Orange Race Team).
The final podium spot went to West Suffolk Wheelers’ Jordan Black with 21-15, while was 40 seconds ahead of Ely and District CC veteran Simon Butteriss in fourth with 21-55.
The out and back B10/19 course starts to the west of Hingham and tracks the B1108 to Watton before turning and heading for home.
This win is the third of three open time trials this season for Harley Matthews, who has also tasted victory in the Great Yarmouth CC 25 in May as well as the VC Norwich 25 the week before that.
This season is shaping up to be a good one for Abbey Thompson, who has already been crowned the junior National 25-Mile and National Circuit champion as well as winning several rounds of the Merlin Cycles Classic Series and posting a personal best over the distance.
She is next in action at the VTTA Kent 10 on Saturday, while the National 10-mile title is in her sights next month.
