Andrew Feather (HuntBikeWheels.com) went quickest in the Exeter Wheelers hill climb, while Claire Pile (Saint Piran) was the victor in the women’s event at Sunday’s race.

Former national champion Feather went off as the scratch-man and he clocked a final time of 4:16.96 to win comfortably.

Espoir Charlie MacTear (High Wycombe CC) came second as he was 30 seconds off the pace, finishing in 4:41.64. Jack Dallyn (Team 200) finished off the podium with a time of 4:44.52.

Feather was the runner up in last year’s National Hill Climb Championships, and he has started this year off with four consecutive wins. Next up for him is the Velo Club Cumbria HC next weekend.

In the women’s event it was Claire Pile that came out on top, completing the course in 6:59.24.

Second spot went to Nikki Toomer of the promoting club who clocked a time of 7:01.41. The final podium spot was ridden by Jodeci Pugsley (Exeter University Triathlon Club), her final time was 7:46.85.

According to her CTT profile this was a hill climb debut for Pile. As well as that, this is her first win of 2022 in what is her first open event of the year.
