The George Herbert Stancer National Schools Championship final took place in Dunnington, Warwickshire on Saturday and it was Flex-Tech Ettridge Cycles RT rider Joe Laverick who was crowned champion, covering the 10-mile course in 21.01. Lauren Dolan (Liv CC – Epic Coaching) won the women's event.

Laverick was 12 seconds quicker than his closest rival with Nathan Allatt (Royal Navy and Royal Marines CA) taking second place with 21.13.

Timothy Torrie (DFL In-Gear) had to settle for third, missing out on second by just a second with 21.14. It proved to be a very competitive top ten with only a few seconds separating the field.

Results for the female riders were also close with Lauren Dolan (Liv CC – Epic Coaching) winning in 22.32, putting her 37th overall.

Caitlin Peters (i-Team CC) was second in 23.36 and April Tacey (Leicestershire CC) finished third in 23.54.

The is named after George Herbert Stancer OBE who did so much for the sport cycling of cycling in the early 20th century.
