Joanne Jago was quickest female as Nick Livermore appeared on the podium once more in the Gillingham & District Wheelers 19-mile time trial in Bruton on Saturday.

The win marks the first time Nick Livermore (Bristol South CC) has won this event in the South West of England after two previous attempts on record, he also won the team prize with fellow Bristol South riders David Bolton and Luke Smith.

A time of 32-51 finally allowed the 29-year-old from Bristol to capture the win after finishes of seventh and twelfth in 2018 and 2017 respectively.

Livermore has now triumph in three consecutive starts to open his 2020 season, matching his overall record for the 2019 season.

Rogue Racing pair Tavis Walker and Morgan Curle completed the podium spaces with Walker second behind Livermore.

Walker clocked 33-29 to record his first podium on record in over a year while Curle, over a minute behind his team-mate in 34-33, had been a top-three rider as recently as October as well as winning twice in open events last season.

Joanne Jago (Performance Cycles CC) finished the day as fastest woman thanks to a time of 40-56, finishing well ahead of the rest of the women’s category.

Jago’s time gave her a first win of the season, finishing 2-13 clear of second place.

Second place went to Salisbury Road and Mountain CC’s Katy Parsons who clocked 43-09 ahead of Joanna Knight (Bristol South CC) in third.

Fourth place overall Ethan Moody (Tri UK) was quickest junior on the day with a time of 35-32 while fifth-placed Tony Chapman (Frome and District Wheelers) was quickest veteran rider only nine seconds behind Moody.
