RTTC National 24 hour Championship preview 22-23 July

Michael Broadwith leads the Arctic Tacx RT squad in their bid to attack the 24-hour Competition Team Record in the Championship event, the Mersey Roads Club promotion. Broadwith, winner of the Championship in 2015 and 2016, is backed by 2014 winner Jonathan Shubert and Stephen Abraham.

Abraham replaces Tim Bayley, who last year with Broadwith and Shubert established the current Competition Team record of 1,547.50 miles.

This year 80, Men and Women and four Tandems have chosen to take on the challenging day-long event. Lynne Biddulph (Born to Bike-Bridgtown Cycles), 17 times a winner of the Mersey Roads `24`, heads the Women’s entry that also includes Jasmijn Muller (Born to Bike) and Crystal Spearman (NOPINZ).

Victor Chetta (Mid Shropshire Wheelers) returns looking to improve on his third place last year while Paul Jackson (Team Bottrill-HSS Hire), Robert Bullyment (Catford CC), Roger Squire (Wrexham RC) and Christopher Hall (Spokes BPC Racing) are among the opposition.

 

While the event  HQ has been moved to The ClubHouse Wrexham, Oak Road, Wrexham LL13 9RG the course remains much the same as usual, the Quina Brook Circuit and the Prees Heath Circuit. The finishing circuit starts at  Hugmore Lane- Wrexham Industrial Estate-Bryn Lane-Oak Road. Finishing circuit totals 8.53 miles.
