Course Description

Wear Bank Hillclimb Course – Wolsingham, County Durham

Distance 1.15 miles Climbs 470 feet.

Start in the large open junction of the Weardale Railway entrance, at the kerbstone joint immediately uphill of the brown Weardale Railway Parking sign, in line with the southern end of Wear's Bridge. Proceed uphill to join the Wear Bank road in the direction of Hamsterley. Climb for 0.75 miles before following the road around to the left onto a short flatter section. After 0.15 miles, the road rises again for another 0.25 miles to the finish just before the straight summit of Howlea Lane, opposite the easterly gatepost of a field gate. 1.15 miles.
