Lsdc Agm 2023

Just a reminder that that the LSDC AGM will be held at 1030 am on Saturday 7th October 2023 at Crawley Methodist Hall, Woodfield Road , Crawley or remotely via MS Teams via this link https://teams.live.com/meet/9473356349701?p=rn52qGHXAaCfU5gf .

It's member clubs opportunity to have a voice and influence of our sport. Whilst the LSDC work for all of the clubs in the district and have ideas about Rules and Regulation changes we don't have the monopoly regarding good ideas. It may just be that you have some great ideas how to promote the sport, turn th decline in numbers around or encourage new riders to begin their journey into the sport.

The chair, Mark Jones, has noted an anomoly in one of the Regulations and below is his proposal to take to CTT Annual AGM on 2nd December 2023 to affect a change.

PROPOSAL TO ALIGN CTT POLICE NOTIFICATION FORM DEADLINE WITH STATUTORY REQUIREMENTS.

To amend Regulation 27(b) to read:

“Event Notification

Not less than 28 days before the event, a completed Police Notification Form shall be sent to:

  1. The Chief Constable(s) of each Police Authority; and
  2. To the Secretary of each District into which the event passes.”

Currently, Regulation 27(b) states that “Not less than six weeks before the event, a completed Police Notification Form shall be sent to:

  1. The Chief Constable(s) of each Police Authority; and
  2. To the Secretary of each District into which the event passes.”

The Duties of Promoting Secretaries section of the handbook states that “The Road Traffic Act demands that Police have at least 28 days’ clear notice of a time trial taking place.”

The statutory requirement is, as per the Duties of Promoting Secretaries section of the handbook, 28 days.

The rationale for District Secretaries requiring copy of the form two weeks prior to the statutory requirement is unclear.
