🚴 Mae Her Dringo'r Allt – Bala Hill Climb Competition
📍 Parking & Registration
The Green Car Park, Station Road, Bala, LL23 7NG
The car park is approximately 0.7 miles /~ 1 km from the start line.
Registration: 9:00am–10:30am
First rider off: 11:01am
Online entry is preferred. Entries on the day will be available between 9:00am and 10:30am.
⛰️ The Course
The course starts just after the junction where riders turn off the A4212 and follows a 0.79-mile (1.3 km) country road, finishing next to a lay-by shortly after the left turn for Gwernfeistrol.
The road is in good condition, with only minor bumps and potholes typical of a quiet rural road. It is a standard two-lane carriageway of adequate width, allowing two cars to pass comfortably and motorists to safely overtake cyclists while maintaining appropriate clearance.
There is one short section of approximately 20 metres where the road narrows as it crosses a bridge. The road remains wide enough for a car to pass a cyclist safely, and the bridge is clearly visible from the start line.
🚴 After Your Climb
Once you have completed the course, please do not attempt to stop or turn around.
Continue rolling down the road for approximately 0.1 miles to the designated turning point before returning.
🏆 Prizes
There will be prizes for category winners, although there will be no monetary prizes.

This is a "test the interest" event to see whether we can establish a North Wales Hill Climb Series in 2027.
We're hoping to make this a fun and welcoming day for everyone, whether you're a seasoned hill-climber or simply fancy giving it a go.
The climb itself is short, punchy and rewarding, with fantastic views to enjoy at the top.
